Indian wear in Bollywood films is the in thing right now!

Desi tadka in Bollywood movies always mesmerizes us. Indian traditional wear is something which brings a sense of beauty which just cannot be compared with anything else. It embarks the Indian culture so gracefully that one can’t help but fall for those desi beauties again and again. Take a look at some of the best Indian wear in Bollywood films.

Band Baaja Baaraat

If you thought wedding outfits were all about sarees and lehengas, pause and think again. The 2010 hit film Band Baaja Baaraat saw the bubbly Anushka Sharma don some really pretty, youthful and colorful salwar kameezes. The color combinations included orange and purple, lime green and orange, blue, yellow and red, and many more.

Mausam

The 2011 film Mausam, which starred Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, is a must watch, not for the story line but definitely for Sonam’s traditional outfits including Kashmiri borders, knitted shawls, and full-sleeved kurtas. The pretty actress showed the audiences how to look stylish yet elegant in Indian wear.

Bodyguard

kareena kapoor

We simply loved Kareena Kapoor’s cotton salwars all through the movie. The way she mixed and matched her entire outfit was awe-inspiring, making the otherwise boring college look, a super hit.

Bol Bachchan

The 2012 movie saw both the lead actresses show off some really cool Indian clothes. While Asin was decked up in vibrant colored ghagras and lehengas, we saw Prachi don some very beautiful kurtis and salwars.

Love Aaj Kal

deepika

Though the movie did not really see Deepika Padukone go desi completely, we did get to see some very trendy Indian wear on her. Soon after the release of the film, tunics and printed kurtas paired with leggings became very popular among urban women.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Throughout the film Alia Bhatt was seen sporting bright and colorful ethnic outfits. From quirky kurtas to chic patiala salwars and mirrorwork vests and various other statement pieces, all looked fresh, simple and very stylish. What caught our attention immediately was the jootis and accessories.
