On the occasion of Friendship’s Day, we take a look at some tales of Bollywood that re-defined friendship
While most of you guys are busy sharing bands and writing special messages and passing gifts to your friends today, we at BollywoodLife, thought of bringing you a token of some of the best seen friendships on the silver screen. So we busied ourselves with a long list of movies that truely made us relive our BFF moments. Here are the top five from our list:
Student Of The Year - A classic Karan Johar film with a tadka of romance, friendship and ofcourse the fights. Student Of The Year, which marked the Bollywood debut of Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt is a great tribute to the poor-rich friendship. It took us back to the days of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, in many ways.
3 Idiots - Rajkumar Hirani shattered all the records at the box office with 3 Idiots, which had Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor and Boman Irani. The rapport between Rancho, Raju and Farhan was certainly a thing to watch out for. It sure is something that everybody can relate to, no matter the age. Plus, you just can’t watch this movie once.
Kai Po Che - The film, which starred Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh was the story about three buddies, who battle with themselves and the world in pursuit of their dreams. So what made it stand out from other tales of friendship that the Hindi cinema spun in the last decade? Though, the film was set in the early 2000, it had a very modern feel of friendship that made this film connect to the masses.
Gunday - Set in Kolkata, in the 1970′s, the film was truly a celebration of Bikram (Ranveer Singh) and Bala’s (Arjun Kapoor) friendship. This movie, which also had Priyanka Chopra talks heaps about the ties of friendship. There were many scenes between Arjun and Ranveer that made us instantly connect to this film. This is indeed the kind of film you would want to watch on Friendship’s Day.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Zoya Akhtar’s film is a salute to friendship. The journey of the three friends played by Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol portrays a perfect mix of fun and fights, something we regard integral to any friendship.
So there you are. But we’d like to hear about your favourite onscreen friendships too. So don’t fret to add in a few names in the comments. Happy Friendship’s Day!
