Remo D’Souza: I am going to be very strict this season!

The ace choreographer talks about the new addition to the judges’ panel, his plans for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 7, his upcoming movie ABCD 2

Remo D’Souza has been the technical judge on JDJ for the longest time, but this season besides Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Karan Johar, Remo will be joined by Maksim Chmerkovskiy. But that does not worry Remo at all. In fact, he says the more opinions we get the better it will. We agree!

What new are you bringing to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this season?

There are a lot new things besides my new look. We are bringing a lot of new dance forms, 13 new faces, new choreographers, a new Madhuri Dixit and very new set.

Whose idea was it to get a new judge on the show?

That was the creative team of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7’s idea. They’ve done a good job so far. It’s a nice thing to have an international view point on the dance forms.

You’ve been the technical judge on JDJ for so long, what’s if there is a clash of opinions between you and Maksim Chmerkovskiy?

Actually the more opinions you get the better it is. It’s good to get different views points. I don’t think his views and mine would be that different.

How strict are you planning to be this season?

Very strict. As it is I am considered strict –it’s what I do.

Is there any dance forms you will be learning this season like Madhuri Dixit-Nene?

I am going to try a lot of new dance forms. I will be trying Capoeira, Zouk, Jitterbug. I know about these dance forms but never really got the opportunity to learn them. So I am going to do them and make sure that the contestants learn them too.

Will we see you dancing on any of these new dance forms?

Yes, you will see me dance in new styles this season.

What is the status of ABCD 2?

Yes, we are ready with it. ABCD 2 will be rolling out in July.

So what is different in ABCD 2 ?

This time we are going international. It’s a real life story of a dance group. It has no similarity with any other dance movies.
