Prabhudheva wants to bring back this jodi to the big screen
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan haven’t worked together since 2009 (Kambakkht Ishq). Now the industry sources reveal that Prabhudheva is trying to get this duo back on screen for his next film Singh Is Bling.
The actress has been approached to play the leading lady. A source says, “Kareena has been approached to play the main lead. It’s a remake of a south film. For the first time Prabhudheva has written a script which has a meaty role for the heroine. Usually in his films, the actresses have little to do but this one is different. He is keen to have Kareena play the part because it needs a performer and not just a glamazon. Prabhudheva feels that Kareena is one of the finest actresses we have today. Besides she and Akshay have always shared a great chemistry on screen.”
While Prabhudheva doesn’t deny that Kareena has been approached, he says, “It’s the producers call. They will announce who is the actress in due course.”
Producer Ashvini Yardi says, “It’s too early to talk about it. We are yet to finalise the lead actress. We will make an announcement later this month.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan remained unavailable for comment.
