The Bong babe’s Bollywood debut Kaanchi: The Unbreakable might have bombed at the box-office but that hasn’t stopped filmmakers from approaching her
Mishti Chakraborty made her Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai’s Kaanchi: The Unbreakable . The film hit the theatres and went unnoticed even by the die-hard Bollywood fans. However, Mishti was certainly noticed. Be it for her looks or acting, Ghai’s muse has won the heart of a filmmaker down South . Mishti has bagged her first Telugu film opposite Nithiin with director Karunakaran. The one-film-old Bong babe is quite excited about her Tollywood debut. She told a popular daily, “It’s a romantic entertainer with a thriller element in it. When the script was narrated to me, I instantly gave my nod because I really liked it. Also, I have heard a lot about my co-star Nithiin. So, I’m pretty excited to work with him. We’re set to start the shooting next month.”
We’d like to see how this Bong beauty will act in a Tollywood film. We’re sure that’s gonna be difficult especially as she doesn’t know the language. On being asked if she would learn Telugu, she said, “Definitely. Right now, I don’t know if my voice would be dubbed by somebody else, but I would love to learn the language to get my dialogues and lip sync perfect.”
We just hope Mishti’s Tollywood debut is better than her Bollywood one… We wouldn’t be surprised if Mishti follows Hansika Motwani’s footsteps who, despite making her Bollywood debut and acting in a few Hindi films is doing much better down South.
