Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev: 200 trunks of costumes worth crores destroyed in the fire mishap!

Last year there was a massive fire on the sets of Kapil Sharma’s comedy show. Another such mishap occurred yesterday on the sets of Mohit Raina’s popular show

A little birdie tells us that a major fire broke down on the sets of Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev yesterday in Naigaon. While it’s been reported that there were no injuries, we hear that the costumes of the entire cast of the show were destroyed in the fire. Apparently, 200 trunks of costumes got destroyed. That’s certainly a major loss to the production.

A source told a popular tabloid, “The fire started in a store on the sets; this was at Poman in Naigaon just when the 9 am shift had begun.” Producer of Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev Nikhil Sinha confirmed that there were no injuries. He was quoted by a popular tabloid, “There are about four fire engines here. Thankfully, we evacuated the sets immediately, so no one was injured on the sets.”

There are two sets of the show in Naigaon, at Poman and Maljipada. The fire broke out on the one located at Poman. Nikhil added, “The serial has been airing for nearly three years now, so a considerable number of costumes and props were stacked together on the sets. It is difficult for me to assess the damage, it will be clear only after the fire has been doused. Given that a lot of costumes and jewellery items were stocked on the sets, the damage may run into crores of rupees. Costumes of mythological shows are expensive as specially made for the show.”

Well, we hope the production soon recovers all the losses and that the shoot isn’t disrupted much. It’s a great relief that no one was injured despite such a massive fire. We hear that Vikramjeet Virk, Tapeshwari Sharma and Aarti Singh were at the Poman location while Mohit Raina was at Maljipada.
