Will the Drishyam remake be canned because of Ekta Kapoor?

As per the media reports, a South filmmaker wants to remake Drishyam in Hindi. But that may not happen thanks to Balaji head honcho

Ever since Drishyam hit the theatres last year and got cash registers ringing, a lot of filmmakers have been trying to get its remake rights. In fact, a South filmmaker is planning to remake the Mohanlal starrer in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Apparently, Drishyam is inspired by Japanese author Keigo Higashino’s book The Devotion Of Suspect X and we hear Ekta Kapoor has already the acquired the rights of this book. That’s not all! The TV czarina is also considering making a film based on Keigo’s novel under her won production house. And that’s reason why the Hindi version of Drishyam to be made by the South filmmaker may not go on floors.

Though there has been no official announcement from Ekta on this issue, her legal team is reportedly investigating the whole scenario. Well, we dunno which filmmaker will up end up remaking Drishyam in Hindi but we are sure waiting to see this film which has already caught so much attention.
