You’d think that being a bollywood actor would never ever mean having financial problems with the luxurious life that they seem to be leading, but out of all of the careers there are, it is the glitz world that is the riskiest, one second you float in all the riches life has to offer and the next you are left with nothing but a fame that you need to live up to if the game is not played carefully enough. A lot of bollywood actors who were once popular ended up in the midst of financial woes and here’s a few of them that we know of..

Amitabh Bachchan

Isn’t it surprising that the biggest ever star of the b-town is the first in the list? Amitabh Bachchan might be a really big star today, but there was one time in the recent past where he had got himself into knee deep financial problems due to his company ABCL went into losses.

Fortunately, the board of Industrial and Financial reconstruction came to his rescue, shortly after which he was offered to host the KBC which pulled him out of the situation. “In the year 2000, when the entire world was celebrating the new century, I was celebrating my disastrous fortune. There were no films, no money, no company, a million legal cases against the company and the tax authorities had put notice of recovery on my home” said Big B talking about the worst phase of his life.

Preity Zinta

With all the success this pretty actress has seen during the days when she was one among the top most actresses and with the fact that she owned a cricket team, you would’ve thought that Preity Zinta must be one actress who was far from having any financial problems, but apparently she hasn’t been doing that well financially.

After producing Ishk in Paris, Preity lost loads of money, from what we hear and has even put up her own apartment for rent and began to live elsewhere. Salman Khan also financially helped her out for a while but it doesn’t look like things have brightened up for her even now as only recently, the writer of Ishk in Paris, Abbas Tyrewala filed a case against her for not paying him his fee. She should have thought twice before putting in all her money into the movie, we think..

A.K.Hangal

A.K.Hangal is one of the most popular actors in bollywood who’s been around in the industry for a very very long time and he’s acted in so many films (225) that you’ll feel like he’s there in all the movies that you’ve seen playing some minor role. Lagaan, Sholay, Bawarchi, Guddi were some of the successful films that he was a part of.

What we haven’t known all these days is that this actor has spent most of his life in miserable poverty before he passed away when he was 95. He was so poor that he couldn’t even afford treatment for his ill health in the last days of his life. Although Amitabh Bachchan and Karan Johar were gracious enough to help him out during those days, poverty never left the man..

Jagadish Mali

Jagadish Mali was one of the most brilliant photographers that bollywood has had, also the father of the actress Antara Mali…does it ring a bell? Yes, this is the same man who was all over the newspapers for being found on the roads of Mumbai with no clothes and no shelter in a very horrifying state.

When he was out of work, the man also got addicted to alcohol and had no money left after closing down his studio and got so poor that he fell on roads. While Antara Mali claimed that it was not how it looked to be, it was Salman Khan who came to the rescue of Jagadish Mali and took him under his wing until he got better.

Bharat Bhushan

Those of you who like to watch Hindi movies from the 50′s and 60′s, would probably be really big fans of Bharat Bhushan..he was some of the first few actors in the country who defined stardom. He had loads of money and no one would’ve even imagined that he would reach the poverty that he spent in, in the last few years of his life.

Bharat Bhushan got addicted to gambling sometime after his career ended and that’s how he lost his money, bungalow, the cars that he owned and everything. Things got so worse that he had to live in a chawla during the last days of his life! This is definitely like a lesson to the rest of the bollywood actors as to how to not live their life..
