Kareena Kapoor: I want to work in Bengali films

Kareena Kapoor comes from a family which is deep rooted in the Hindi film industry. She is married into a family that is also rooted in Hindi and Bengali film industries. Now, she wants to follow her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore’s footsteps and work in Bengali films.

Satyajit Ray was one such director with whom my mother-in-law had the opportunity to work in so many films. I also hope to be able to work with some of the great directors of Bengal,” said the Kapoor girl who is married to Sharmila Tagore’s son Saif Ali Khan.

Kareena said, “I have never been offered a Bengali film. But I want to work. Language comes as a problem but that can be managed with dubbing. I have been to Kolkata but I haven’t had the chance to spend much time there. But I love the food over here. The city is culturally very rich. If I do a Bengali film it will also give me the chance to understand the city better,” she said.

Her next film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases this Friday.
