Kangana Ranaut’s most eccentric and off-beat roles

Kangana Ranaut is back in action. She has two solid releases lined up. Rajjo and Revolver Rani. She says that Revolver Rani is the toughest role that she has ever done. But we refuse to believe so! Right from the start, she started appearing in movies like Gangster where she was a alcoholic then Woh Lamhe where she commits suicide then Fashion where she was a drug addict. Can these roles be out done? We don’t think so. But don’t forget, Kangana Ranaut has a special ability to surprise us.

gangster

Nothing else can explain Kangana Ranaut’s Simran better than this song. Bheegi Bheegi has all the feels. The pain she feels when their adopted child is killed in an police encounter, the betrayal she feels when Emraan Hashmi betrays him and the sadness she feels when she realizes that her true love is going to die and the peace she feels when she jumps off the building and commits suicide. Kangana Ranaut’s acting was fabulous and for her hard work, she did win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

woh lamhe

Kangana Ranaut’s portrayal of Sana Azmi was widely appreciated in Mahesh Bhatt’s Woh Lamhe. If rumours are to be believed, this story is based on Parveen Babi’s undying love for Mahesh Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut did an amazing job. Parveen Babi’s love story was told to us in form of a motion picture and Kangana did her best!

Fashion

Fancy clothes, expensive cars and glittery jewellery. For us outsiders, thats what the glamour world is all about. But for insiders like Shonali Gujral, the world of fashion and glamour is all about the race to be on top, the competition, arrogance, drugs, abuse of power and stepping on others. Kanagana Ranaut did justice to her character who is arrogant and also a drug addict. Her end was very unfortunate but Kangana did it with perfection. She won two awards for her role. National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Raaz – The Mystery Continues

By now we would think that something is actually wrong with Kangana Ranaut. Why on earth would she keep taking up such crazy roles? But today, those crazy roles were what defined her career. Her character of Nandita Chopra in Raaz was another brilliant role which she played with perfection. I’ve seen quite of lot of Bollywood horror movies, but Raaz was one of the very few with actually gave me shivers. Must be Kangana’s shrill voice!

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai

Paaya maine, paaya tumhe, rab ne milaya tumhe, honthon pe sajaya tumhe, nag mein sagaya tumhe

Paaya maine, paaya tumhe, sab se chupaya tumhe, sapna banaya tumhe, neendhon mein bulaya tumhe. That’s it! These two lines describe Sultan Mirza’s love for Rehana. Another unconventional role very well played by Kangana. What can we say? She’s starting to grow on us.

Krrish 3

Agreed that the movie was a flop! What did they think? The Indian audience would digest just about anything? Yeah! Right!! But there was one character that I LOVED! Kaya! Accepted is the fact that they gave her the black widow look but we simply loved Kangana’s role!
