Kangana Ranaut has done many radically different roles so far. From playing a gangster’s troubled lover in the movie Gangster to playing a troubled super model in Fashion; the actress has carried herself with elan.
Now, she will be next seen in the forthcoming film Rajjo, which will see her as a nautch girl. The actress worked hard for the role; learnt classical dancing; did extensive research on sex-workers’ mannerisms and lifestyle; all to get the nuances right.
Though initially hesitant, she even chewed paan (nautch girls usually chew paan), to add that authenticity to the role.
“While any other actress would think twice before doing something that would affect her teeth, she understood that without this gesture, her portrayal of Rajjo would seem complete. As a result, she won many admirers in the team. Vishwas (the director) was bowled over by her dedication and professionalism,” says a source.
Rajjo, produced by Four Pillars Entertainment, releases November 15.
