Amitabh Bachchan in his 44 year long career has for the first time dubbed for an animated movie. The Indian film icon has lent his voice and sombre expressions to Bheeshma Pitamah in Amaan Khan’s Mahabharat, a 3D animation venture.
Apparently, a 2 hour long version was created specially to get Amitabh Bachchan on board. It took the makers almost two years to finish it and show it to Amitabh. They inform that their intention was clear. “We wanted Amitji to watch it and get convinced about the character and treatment before deciding whether he wished to be a part of it. Once he came on board, other prominent Bollywood actors readily agreed to be a part of our film,” says producer Jayantilal Gada.
Many celebrities like Ajay Devgn, Sunny Deol, Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee, among others have lent their voice to characters of the movie and their images have been rendered in the animated form too. The producers have made this film as a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema.
Mahabharat, produced by Jayantilal Gada, releases December 25.
