His second Bollywood film after F.A.L.T.U., ABCD – Any Body Can Dance was a huge success. Can the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judge keep up the pace?
Remo D’Souza may have made his talent clear as a dancer and even more so with the students he has trained, but he burst into public prominence with his judging stints on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and as director of F.A.L.T.U.. But he managed to follow that up with the success of ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, a film based on the whole dance competition premise. Of course, following all good Bollywood trends, Remo now is following that up with the sequel to ABCD for UTV. This one will be on a far larger scale, with at least about 60 percent of the film shot in Las Vegas. Remo confirmed to a publication, “Wanting to make a bigger wave, I’m heading to Disney Studios in Los Angeles to start the groundwork for it. We are going on floors in January and will finish by June. And if all goes as planned, we hope to release the film during the second half of next year.” The cast will be new, he explained, but Prabhu Dheva and Dharmesh will continue into the second story too. We expect the rest of Remo’s troupe, of course, since we see them in almost every song that he choreographs for other films.
And there is more to the versatile Mr D’Souza’s career graph it seems. The director-choreographer is now a producer. His first film with that credit will be Amar Must Die, starring Rajeev Khandelwal and Zarine Khan. Will it have dance? We have no clue, but Remo without dance is like Bollywood without naach-gaana, Priyanka Chopra without her heels, Shahrukh Khan without a dimple, Ranbir Kapoor without Katrina Kaif….
