Looks like the year 2013 has turned out to be very lucky for the Kapoor household. Anil Kapor managed to cross the 100 crore mark with Race 2, then after that Anil Kapoor was critically acclaimed for his part of a cop in ‘Shootout At Wadala’. And now with ’24′ with which Anil made his debut on TV, Anil Kapoor is indeed on a high.
Same is the case with Sonam Kapoor, after a series of disappointments, the sexy actress was back in the scene with hits like Raanjhanaa followed by Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, with the latter also bringing her into the elite 100 crore club.
With Sonam Kapoor getting all the appreciation with the commercial success, one would have expected Anil Kapoor to be on cloud 9. However, the actor is keeping his emotions in control.
“I don’t get too excited easily. Aisa toh hota rehta hai industry mein. Jab aapki picture chal jaati hai toh tareef ho jaati hai. Kabhi kisi doosre ki picture ke saath aisa hota hai toh media usse limelight mein le aati hai . You can’t base your emotions over what is written or spoken about you. This is what I tell Sonam as well,” says Anil Kapoor, a veteran of over 100 films who has been in the industry for 35 years now.
For someone who was seeing his daughter’s career pretty up, close and personal, isn’t he elated that Sonam is getting the kind of recognition that was much due for her? “Well, you guys are saying it now, I knew it all along,” smiles Anil Kapoor, “In this industry, luck plays a very big part in shaping up someone’s journey. If someone says good, I feel happy. When that doesn’t happen, even then I smile because I know how much goes into the background and how things can change at the last minute. The idea is to be sensible than worry too much about external forces.”
Now that Sonam is all set to begin work on the Khubsoorat remake, the only advice that she is getting from her Papa dear is to work harder.
