Leading ladies of Bollywood Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, etc all have one thing in common. They all have done item-songs which have become very popular. Be it Katrina’s Shiela Ki Jawani or Kareena’s Halkat Jawani or Madhuri’s Ghaghra or Bipasha Basu’s Beedi Jale; all are peppy and catchy and have become super hits. Now one can’t help but wonder why Priyanka Chopra has not joined the item-girl team.
Well, she has but sadly, her item-songs haven’t been much popular. She’s done 2 item songs so far (she started them this year). But the Babli Badmaash from Shootout at Lokhandwala hasn’t been able to match up to a Munni or a Shiela and her Pinky from Zanjeer is no match for Chikni Chameli.
Notwithstanding that, Priyanka seems to be determined to become the sexy seductive item-girl. She will be seen in a new avatar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much awaited film Ram Leela in an item song. Dressed in a white choli and a white skit with a slit up to the thigh, the leggy lass looks like a bomb. Now we all know about the grandeur in SLB’s movies and songs. Remember the Dola Re from Devdas? That’s an item song SLB-ishtyle.
Reportedly Priyanka Chopra’s song in this movie has been choreographed by Prabhu Deva’s brother Vishnu Deva. Now with her sexiness, her determination, Vishnu Deva’s choreography and SLB’s direction, this song is bound to be a hit! Good Luck Piggy Chops!
