Ram Leela is soon going to hit the cinema halls. In yet another author backed role, Deepika Padukone will be seen as ‘Leela’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’. While the promos are indicating yet another stellar performance from Deepika in the offring, the film’s run at the box office will consolidate the leading lady’s positioning as the Numero Uno female superstar.
“Whatever position that I am in today or the kind of love and appreciation that I am getting, it has not happened overnight. It is not just luck either,” says Deepika without mincing any words, “There is a bloody lot of hard work that has gone into it. At the end of the day, you need to make commitments and then make some more sacrifices.”
In the times where sequels and remakes are the happening thing, isn’t Deepika flattered that most of her biggies, excpet Race 2, have been first time affairs?
“That’s right. I believed in COCKTAIL, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, CHENNAI EXPRESS and was excited about what Sanjay (Leela Bhansali) had to say about RAM-LEELA. It was good enough for me to go out there and do some good work. With KOCHADAIIYAAN as another original subject, I am definitely enjoying my times,” says Deepika.
