Manish Paul’s debut film Mickey Virus had a decent opening at the box office yesterday. Though the 15-20 % outcome is not something to brag about, the urban youth preferred this movie to the other movies that are in the multiplexes. As a result, many multiplexes are screening this instead of other movies in many screens during prime-time. This suggests the audiences showing up for this film will increase as word of mouth gets out good about the comedy-thriller.
It dominated other releases of this week which included Vir Das’s Sooper Se Ooper, Rajeev Khandelwal’s Ishk Actually along with Bull Bulbull Bandook and Wake Up India.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Boss, which monopolized the entire last week, grossed Rs. 50cr in the 9 days it has been running since its release. The Khiladi’s movie might be squashed completely by next week when the much awaited super-hero movie Krrish 3 releases. We’ll have to wait and see…
