History repeats itself, Fashion trends come back and just like that even movies are remade. 4 of Amitabh Bachchan’s movies were remade and one was just awful. No other words to describe it. Yes, I’m talking about Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag. The other 3 movies were good. Agneepath was the best so far followed by Don and Zanjeer. What do you guys think? Should Big B put a ban on all his movies and not let anyone remake his old movies?? Or should he be okay with all the remakes?
Don
Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai! But Shahrukh Khan did a fairly good job trying to enact the entire Don persona again. Agreed that we didn’t appreciate the plot twist but it was a good watch. Or maybe it’s just my loyal heart talking.
Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag
Need I say a word? I honestly don’t want to but what the hell was Ram Gopal Varma thinking? Where did he even get this bizzare idea of remaking Sholay? Fine, he got it, just like that. But what did he do? Why did he do this to us? He scarred the concept of remake by making such a horrible movie. Period!
Agneepath
Now this is what we call a purrfect remake. Actually it was better than the remake. Hrithik Roshan did justice to the character of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan but Sanjay Dutt as Kancha Cheena stole the show. He was so much more evil than Danny Denzongpa and that’s saying something!
Zanjeer
I’m still not able to decide if this was a good remake or a bad one. Was it Ram Charan’s southern hindi accent that was off? Or was it his over confidence and over acting that didn’t make it a mind blowing remake? People who didn’t watch Zanjeer 1990 would like Zanjeer 2013 but I still love the angry young man. Ram Charan was just the arrogant young man.
