Akshay Kumar seems to be jinxed this year. His last release Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara was overshadowed by Shahrukh Khan’s blockbuster Chennai Express. Chennai Express was released in 3500 screens in India and it dominated all the available screen-space. Hardly any screens were left for OUATIMD. This subsequently let to a cold war between Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan.
Now Akshay Kumar’s film Boss is slated to be released in the second week of this month and now, Besharam, which released now, is clashing with it. Besharam is the biggest release in Bollywood ever. With the movie being released in 3600 screens, it beat Chennai Express.
The makers of Besharam have broken the Friday norm and have chosen today, a Wednesday, to release the film. Now because there are no big releases this week, there is no competition for it. Sadly, the same can’t be said about Boss.
Both of these movies are slated to be rib-tickling comedies. Will the Khiladi emerge the winner out of this war?
