In 'Wanted', he bashed 20 goons at a time. And, then he took his character Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg to a different level, making it popular among the audience. The fearless yet corrupt cop who breathed fire and venom with dialogues like “ek baar jo main commitment kar doo toh main apni bhi nahi sunta” have literally gone down in history. The film even went on to winning a national award! Finally this year he readily entertained his audience with the humorous and impactful ‘Ready’ which till now is the highest grosser of 2011.
And, his upcoming film ‘Bodyguard’ is a remake of the Malayalam film by the same director. Salman plays Lovely Singh, who is hired to become the bodyguard of a business tycoon’s only daughter played by Kareena Kapoor. He takes his job very seriously and follows her and everywhere, to the extent of annoying her.
In a recent press conference Kareena jokingly said “Lovely is my best friend” to which Salman responded by revealing how Atul Agnihotri, the producer of the film came up with suggestions like Jolly Singh, Happy Singh, Lucky Singh etc.
The movie is all set to hit the theatres on Eid.
Though it will be quite right to say that action films have become Salman’s specialty now but overall, he has done diversified roles. "I'm happy with the genres, I've done pretty much everything" he said in a recent interview.
He has given his audience 200% gratification when they have gone with 100% expectations.
