Salman aims to outdo all the khans

With his newly acquired confidence as a box office champ, Salman Khan is now working on proving himself as the best dancer among all th  Khans.

This was his brief to his current favourite choreographer Mudassar Khan, when they started shooting the track Desi beat for his upcoming Bodyguard.

"Salman is hell-bent on proving he's the best dancer among the Khans. When Desi beat was being planned, Salman very clearly told Mudassar that he wants to be the best dancer among all the Khans. Salman shot the song like crazy," a source says.

As if getting his favourite choreographer was not enough, Salman also got on board a song director to shoot the number.

And now Salman, we hear from reliable sources, wants to patent this collaborative style of shooting a song.

"Salman will work simultaneously with a choreographer of his choice and a dance director in all his major song and dance numbers," says the source.

When asked about the Bodyguard number, producer Atul Agnihotri confirmed: "We got Mudassar and also a song director, Sumit Dutt. The number rocks."

The collaboration that started with Dabangg where Salman gave Mudassar the chance to choreograph the song Humka peeni hai, has now reached a stage where Salman insists on bringing his blue-eyed choreographer in all his films as a lucky mascot. Looks like, Salman has found his own version of what Saroj Khan used to be for Madhuri Dixit.

For the Bodyguard number, the source adds: "Mudassar was told to take Salman out of his comfort zone as a dancer. Salman has never done this before. This is the first time Salman has followed a choreographer's instruction to the minutest detail."

Salman is 'Being Human'

Salman Khan may be the enfant terrible of the film industry. But the guy sure knows how to stay true to his commitments.

Unlike other superstar-producers who quickly move on to the next project after completing a film, Salman is still in spirits with his first production Chillar Party.

He is keeping tabs on the kids and their lives, specially the street-kid Irfan Khan, who played the car-wash boy with the dog in the film.

Since Khan is poor, Salman has made sure that the money he got from the film is being used to build a home for Irfan and his family.

A source revealed that since Irfan is the only child who has financial problems among the kids in the film, Salman has been specially concerned about him. "He wanted to make sure the boy used the money to build a house for his family," said the source.

Salman's bonding is great with the other kids too. He regularly inquires about their school, studies, games and other interests," he added.

Still around
This is a refreshing change from the plight of the other slum kids who played pivotal roles in renowned films like Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay and Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, and have vanished from the scene.

Says co-director Vikas Bahl, "We had conducted auditions for around 1,800 kids in the city. Irfan was one of them. He lived with his family in a one-room home and, from the beginning, we had decided that we would ensure that Irfan used the money he got from the film for his house."

The team was  very clear that every kid would get an equal amount of money, would be used constructively by them. Salman made sure of this personally as well."

All the Chillar Party kids have gone back to school and Salman has been in touch with every one of them, added the director.

Salman robs SRK of his Badshah title

After his spate of successes at the box office, Salman Khan seems to be one up again.

Recently, applauded as a good actor, a great host and a gracious human being, Salman Khan may just have toppled 'Badshah' (meaning: King) Khan from his throne...at least at the box office.

It has been learnt that after 'Wanted', 'Dabangg', 'Ready', Salman Khan is being touted as 'King - King of the Box Office'. However, not to be taken in by such titles, Sallu says, "It's just the love of the masses that keeps an actor going. Their applause is unconditional. Box office statuses keep changing. The fans, their adulation is constant,"

Salman Khan is upbeat about his next film 'Bodyguard' as well. Is it a sure shot hit? "We can only hope, but can never tell," is what he is heard to have said.

Salman, Katrina go back to college

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will soon be heading back to college if only for a film!

The prestigious Trinity College in Dublin has granted director Kabir Khan the permission to shoot his film Ek Tha Tiger within their premises.

There is one catch though they've insisted the actors enroll themselves for real in a class or two!

"Trinity College is not a star-struck educational institution, and they're certainly not impressed with Bollywood," said a source.

Kabir had to personally guarantee that the crew would be absolutely unobtrusive, and that the unit would be kept to a bare minimum.

Furthermore, he had to assure them that Katrina and Salman would spend time in an orientation exercise so that they feel a sense of belonging. This would entail enrolling into a course temporarily.

Says Kabir, "When the question of shooting on a college campus in Europe came up, I didn't want the usual Oxford or Cambridge campus. I had been to Ireland to do a documentary on the Irish Republican Army strife in Belfast many years ago. So I'm familiar with the topography." Apparently, he had to pull a lot of strings to make this happen.

On being probed further, Kabir reveals, "We are shooting in different countries, including Ireland and Istanbul. Contrary to rumours, Ek Tha Tiger is not a cerebral spy drama. It is as commercial as it gets."

The stunt directors of The Bourne Identity have been roped in to do Salman's action sequences. Also, Katrina's role is apparently almost as powerful as that of Salman.

Though Kabir isn't revealing the plot, we've learnt she plays the woman in the life of a RAW agent who decides to take charge of their lives when she learns of her man's undercover operations.

As for Salman and Katrina, we hear the actors are delighted and proud to become students of one of the finest colleges in the world. The duo leaves for Dublin on August 10.

Bollywood Salman Khan set to go 3D

If all goes well, Salman Khan will finally go 3D. As brother Sohail Khan readies for his ambitious venture, Sher Khan, plans are afoot to employ the special effects, made popular by James Cameron’s 2009 epic Avatar, in his jungle-based adventure movie. Sohail says, “Yes, I plan to make Sher Khanin 3D. But we will lock the decision only after getting the final draft of our script.” To be shot predominantly in Bangkok, the director planned to use real tigers in the film, before animal rights group PETA kicked up a fuss. Though he hasn’t dropped the idea completely, Sohail has admitted that the scenes with Salman and the tigers together will be shot using computer graphics. Probe further, and the 40-year-old accepts that he is undergoing training to get comfortable with using the advanced technology. “Since the technique is new for us, I am updating and educating myself on it,” says Sohail. “Now, everything is at the theoretical stage,” adds the Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) director.

Apparently, Salman is also excited about the new technology, which he feels will work wonders for the action adventure. He is believed to have met a few foreign technicians and shown keen interest in learning the intricacies of 3D. Once the actor finishes brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s co-production, Bodyguard, he and Sohail will work out details together.

Sher Khan, which was supposed to go on floors later this year, has now been pushed back to 2012. Ask Sohail if this was done to help them prepare for a 3D film and he shoots back, “But it was always supposed to start around that time. Bhai is busy with Bodyguard right now. Then, he will focus on Yash Raj’s Ek Tha Tiger before coming to my film. And come to think of it, he can focus on only one film at a time. here’s no hurry.”

Salman Khan apes father in 'Bodyguard'

His patent one-liners have rocked the nation like his recent films. And now, Salman Khan is all set to make heads turn with yet another one-liner- ‘Main Maarta Kum Ghaseet ta Zyada Hoon.’ But there’s a difference between this one-liner and all the others that he has used till now. This time, Salman is using a dialogue which had been originally used by none other than his father, Salim Khan.

Salman is all set to use his father’s dialogue in his forthcoming flick ‘Bodyguard’. Speaking about the dialogue, Salman said, “I have grown up listening to these words from my father and I was awed by them. I’m more than happy to use my father’s dialogue in my film.”
