Salman to star with Jackie Chan in 400 crore epic

On paper, this looks to be the movie that will break all Indian Box-Office records ever set. And Yes, you read the headline right. Director Aascar Ravichandran has reportedly approached Salman Khan, Jackie Chan and Kamal Haasan to star in a multi-lingual epic. And if everything goes according to plan, be sure to be blown away by what you see on screen because Aascar is known for his larger-than-life ventures, and with such a star-cast to boast of, we can expect this movie to break many an international records as well.
It should be put to light that when action heavyweight Jackie Chan was shooting in India in 2004 for his movie ‘The Myth’, he had expressed a desire to star in a Bollywood film. And speculations have been rife since then. But now, it seems that the myth might just take form with such reports coming in. Aascar Ravichandran has reportedly admitted that he has been discussing this project with Chan for a long time now, and Yes, the talks are on with Salman Khan as well.
He further disclosed that the movie might be a sequel to Chan’s super-successful ‘Armour of God’ but with a different setup. Kamal Haasan, though, is not yet finalised. We have our fingers, and everything else, crossed for this to capitalise.

Salman Khan contemplating sequel to ‘Chillar Party’

Chillar Party’, co-produced by Salman Khan and Ronnie Screwvala that was adjudged best children’s film by the National Film Awards might see a sequel coming its way.

The film that revolved around 10 kids and a stray dog stole hearts of the jury at the 59th National Film Awards, 2011. The Bachchaparty of the film also won the best Child artist award.

Talking to DNA, a source revealed, “The first part had a happy ending. Now they may either weave a story around what the kids and their pet are upto or tell a completely different story involving just the gang of kids.”

However, director Vikas Bahl chose to deny plans of a sequel and said, “Our film won three National Awards so right now its celebration time for the entire team. Honestly, it feels great when your film is appreciated in this manner but as for a sequel on the cards, I`ll surely announce it myself when things are confirmed.”

Ranbir Kapoor had turned an item boy in the film while Salman Khan had appeared in the promos. It will be interesting to see if either of them makes it to the sequel (if it is to be made).

Salman Khan greeted bigger heroes

The Taj Land's  saw an amazing display of grit and talent on March 20, when the television channel IBN 7 held its Super Idols of the Nation Awards 2012, recognising the achievements of 11 people who had overcome their disability and helped others as well.

Like Dr Rajneesh Kumar Mishra who teaches robotic surgery, or Shivjit Singh Ragav who looks after people with spinal injuries and N S Hema, who has low vision but has taught 5,000 others with similar problems how to cope and live a normal life. And then there was Kamlesh Patel who danced with both feet on his shoulders.

They were honoured with a citation and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh.

Actor Salman Khan , who was the chief guest, added Rs 1.11 lakh to the prize money.

Many film luminaries were present: South Indian actress Revathi, director Rajkumar Hirani  producer-director Subhash Ghai and actor Ashutosh Rana

Mary Barua, whose child is autistic, started a school for children with autism and their parents. For parents to understand what the condition means and to learn to cope with their child's problem was essential, she said, as she asked Salman Khan to be the face of autism in India He readily agreed.
S Ramakrishnan cannot use his hands or feet and yet runs an ashram for the disabled, a school, a hospital and an ICU for those with spinal injuries in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu. He said that it's not sympathy the disabled want but an opportunity to prove themselves.
Dr Rajneesh Kumar Mishra is in the forefront of robotic surgery in Asia. He has taught doctors from developed countries, performed over 3,000 surgeries on those who cannot afford his treatment, and said that life is not such a challenge if you are willing to work hard and look ahead.
Shivjit Singh Ragav, who runs an institution for those with spinal injuries, recited so many Urdu couplets that the audience could be excused for wondering whether he was a doctor or a poet! He had an explanation for the smile always on his face: "I smile a lot because I counsel those with disabilities. It would depress them if I was crying when I talk to them."
Kamlesh Patel who dances on his hands, and has given almost 1,000 performances, related how difficult it had been to even get an opportunity to perform; a chance meeting with dance master Saroj Khan had given him his first break.
Anjali Agarwal, who has progressive muscular dystrophy, has fought many a battle for the right of access for the disabled through Samarthya, the organisation she co-founded. Now every public building in the national capital has a ramp for the disabled. She said public institutions like airlines that ignored the needs of their disabled passengers were just unaware of what they should do to help.
Others awarded were Malathi K Holla, Sachu Ramalingam, Arman Ali, and Salil Chaturvedi.

Song directors for Salman Khan

While shooting for the sequel has already begun earlier this month, Arbaaz Khan has effortlessly slipped into the director's chair, assisted in no small measure by brother Salman, who has become co-director on location, almost.

Apparently, Arbaaz is in perfect control of every department with leading lady Sonakshi and
the rest of the cast looking toward both Arbaaz and Salman for approval after every shot. And now we hear, Salman's old friends-the director duo of Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao-is being roped in to direct the film's songs.

What's more, the two of them, who are currently busy directing their feature film I Love New York starring
Sunny Deol and Kangna Ranaut, have left behind their schedule to shoot the first song of Dabangg 2 on March 27.

Vinay and Radhika go back a long way with Salman. They were the ones to direct Lucky: No Time for Love starring Salman in the lead. One of the reasons the film is remembered is the lilting Lata Mangeshkar-Adnan Sami duet, Ek ajnabee sa ehsaas dil ko sataaye. Seems the romantic number that Vinay and Radhika will now shoot with Salman and Sonakshi for Dabangg 2 takes a cue from this memorable track.

When contacted, Sapru confirmed the news saying, "Yes, Radhika and me are shooting some songs for Dabangg 2, the first one next week. We've always considered Salman an architect of our careers. And if he asks us to something, we don't think twice."

Meanwhile, the only such time before this when a special twosome was cast to direct a film's songs was when
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan directed the songs of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 1942: A love Story.

Aamir looking forward to Salman’s marriage

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is one among the millions of people who are earnestly looking forward to see Salman Khan getting hitched.
Aamir, who happens to be Salman’s thick friend, expressed his desire to see Salman take a marital plunge soon.

Talking to a daily on his birthday, yesterday, Aamir spoke his heart out about his ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ co-star and said, “I am looking forward to the day when Salman Khan would get married. He has so many good looking girls roaming around him.”

The ‘Dabangg’ Khan, 46, is still one of the most eligible bachelors in Bollywood. Though has risen to the stature of the king of Box Office, he is yet to find a life partner for himself.

Salman Khan New Dhamaka( Pandeyji Maare Seeti) Dabangg 2

The one superstar who is all set to give a tough competition to all these hot item girls. He is none other than Salman Khan, who is soon arriving with a shocker in Dabangg 2.

Sallu will be doing an item number titled “Pandeyji Maare Seeti” in Dabangg 2. Adding more spice to this newest dance number, Sallu will be accompanied by Dabangg's Munni Malaika Arora Khan. Malaika's item number “Munni Badnaam Hui” in Dabangg had rocked the nation in 2010. We guess Sallu's newest item boy avatar will turn a double success.

Interestingly, another much-awaited surprise would be Kareena Kapoor who will sizzle in one of the item songs in the film. Dabangg 2 is being produced and directed by Arbaaz Khan.

Salman alone equals four other actors at the BO and Satellite rights

Salman Khan's box office power is growing every day. A trade source reveals, "The satellite rights of Dabangg-2 have been reportedly picked up for ` 42 cr. This is actually the highest ever for a Bollywood film."

The same trade source also reveals how a film corporation reportedly asked for ` 85 cr for the combined satellite rights of Rowdy RathoreEk Main aur Ekk TuPaan Singh Tomar and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.

However, the television channel who purchased the rights brow-beat them and ultimately the film corporation had to allegedly sell the rights of the four films combo for just ` 56 cr!

This sale reveals two things. One of course that Salman alone (almost) equals four heroes Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Irrfan Khan and Riteish Deshmukh

Second all the hype and hoopla surrounding satellite prices is in many cases exaggerated. ` 56 cr for four films is a modest price not a very big one," continues our source. "Satellite prices are only fantastic when the franchise (in this case Dabangg) or if the lead actor Aamir, Salman or Shah Rukh) is super established. Hrithik Roshan (Krrish-3 and Agneepath) and Ranbir Kapoor(Rajneeti, Rockstar) are also considered top league and do manage enviable prices. And Ajay Devgn is also being closely watched after Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Singham; but the rest of the heroes' films are still getting modest prices for satellite."

Another clause which most filmmakers conveniently leave out when bragging to the media about their satellite sale, is that the channel buying the rights invariably has a clause that says that the airing right prices may be brought down if the film doesn't fare well at the box office.

Salman Khan meets real dabangg

Here’s what happened when the reel ‘Dabangg’ met the real dabanng.

Salman Khan was shooting for his forthcoming film at Mehboob Studios when a man called Hanumant Rao Patil came barging in and stopped the shoot.

But contrary to Sallu bhai’s image in the industry, where many would expected some fireworks, the actor restrained and left the location to cool his heels in his vanity van.

According to reports Patil works under FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and is a self-styled mafia lord, who has been stalling Bollywood shoots for the past few months and tormenting filmmakers in the Hindi cinema industry.

A senior member of the association said that stopping Salman Khan’s shoot is just not done.

Will Hanumant Rao Patil face the music for daring Salman Khan?

Only time will tell…
